Estonian Anzacs

Siin on nimekiri eesti päritoluga meestest kes teenisid Austraalia sõjaväes esimeses maailma sõjas.

At the end of the nineteenth century the population living on the territory of modern day Estonia (Estland and, partly, Lifland provinces of the Russian Empire) was ethnically diverse. This list includes names of all servicemen from this territory except ethnic Russians and Poles. (To see all Estonian-born servicemen search for the word 'Estonia' using the search engine on the home page).

In some cases I could not determine with confidence the ethnic origin of the Estonian-born servicemen listed below. Some of them could be of Latvian, German, Finnish, Danish, Swedish or British origin. At this stage they are recorded as Estonians but further research will help to determine their ethnic origin.

I am grateful for advice from Reet Bergman and Ann Tündern-Smith on spelling of Estonian names.
